That headache's not so bad... I've got it under control!
A minor headache is little more than an annoyance that's relieved by an over-the-counter pain reliever, some food or coffee, or a short rest.2
While most headaches aren’t serious, certain types can be a sign of a more serious condition.1
Primary headaches typically aren’t serious, but they can be very painful and disrupt your day-to-day life.1
“What triggered this headache?”
Some primary headaches can be triggered by lifestyle factors or situations, including1
- Certain foods, such as processed meats that contain nitrates.
- Consuming nicotine.
- Changes in sleep or lack of sleep.
- Poor posture.
- Physical activity, such as exercise.
- Skipped meals.
- Coughing, sneezing, blowing your nose, straining (such as when having a bowel movement), or laughing or crying vigorously.

Most headaches go away on their own and are not a sign of something more serious.
You can ease your headache by yourself by:3
- Drinking plenty of water: Dehydration can increase headache severity, so drink eight glasses of water each day.4
- Getting plenty of rest if you also have a cold or the flu.
- Try to relax – stress can make headaches worse.
- Do gentle stretches: Yoga and tai chi both blend relaxation, breathing and stretching to reduce stress levels.4
- Try good sleep hygiene: Improve your sleep by minimizing daytime naps, avoiding caffeine close to bedtime, getting exercise and avoiding electronic devices before bed.4
- Do massage: Whether you prefer a light touch or deep-tissue work, massage helps relieve built-up muscle tension in the shoulders, neck and scalp.4
- Take over-the-counter medication like Doliprane 1000 mg.
And there are to-do not list which can ease your headache also like:3
- Do not skip meals (even if you might not feel like eating anything).
- Do not sleep more than you usually would – it can make the headache worse.
- Do not strain your eyes for a long time – for example, by looking at a screen.

How to use Doliprane:5
- The usual dosage for Doliprane is 1 tablet, 2 to 4 times a day.
- Administration can be repeated at 4 - 8 hour intervals, depending on the clinical situation.
- Maximum daily dose is 4 tablets (i.e., 4 g paracetamol/day).
The tablets can be taken whole.
Administration after the meals can delay the start of action.
The medicine should not be used for more than 10 days in adults unless prescribed by the doctor.5
During treatment with Doliprane, do not take other medicines containing paracetamol.5

To wrap up:
For most of us, an occasional headache is nothing more than a temporary speed bump in the course of a busy day. Even so, most people can ease the problem with simple lifestyle measures and nonprescription medications. Relaxation techniques, biofeedback, and yoga, and may also help. But for some of us, headaches are a big problem. Work with your doctor to develop a program to prevent and treat migraines and other serious headaches. And don't fall into the trap of overusing medications; for some gents, rebound headaches are the biggest pain of all.2
